Instant Funk were a Philadelphia funk and disco outfit who backed artists including Evelyn "Champagne" King before releasing under their own name. This 1979 UK Salsoul 12" (12 SSOL 118), produced by Bunny Sigler, pulls two extended cuts from the album Got My Mind Made Up -- "Crying" runs nearly nine minutes, with "Dark Vader" filling the flip at over seven.
