Surface were a Philadelphia R&B duo -- Bernard Jackson and David Townsend -- who built a run of smooth New Jack Swing hits on Columbia through the late 1980s. This 1991 Netherlands compilation pulls together key cuts including "Shower Me With Your Love" and "The First Time", both US Top 10 R&B singles.
