Recorded at Van Gelder Studio in October 1965 and originally issued on Blue Note in 1966, Compulsion!!!!! features a large ensemble arranged by Hill across four extended pieces. This 2007 reissue was remastered by Rudy Van Gelder from 24-bit analog transfers, with Michael Cuscuna producing the reissue. The 14-minute title track opens the set, followed by Legacy, Premonition, and the closing Limbo.
