Recorded at Van Gelder Studio on 14 August 1960 and produced by Alfred Lion, this Blue Note hard bop session features Lee Morgan, Wayne Shorter, and Walter Davis Jr. alongside Blakey's powerhouse drumming. This remastered CD reissue adds two tracks absent from the original LP: an alternate take of "Sincerely Diana" and "When Your Lover Has Gone", both previously unissued.
