Aswad's self-titled debut was recorded at Island's Hammersmith studio and Basing Street, London, produced by the band alongside engineer Tony Platt. This 1980 Island reissue (ILPS 9399) features the original lineup -- Brinsley Forde, Donald Griffiths, Courtney Hemmings, George Oban, and Angus Gaye -- across eight tracks of roots and dub, including "Back To Africa" and "Concrete Slaveship".
