Lovers is the debut solo album by Babyface, released in 1986 on Solar Records -- his first before the L.A. Reid partnership made both men ubiquitous in late-80s R&B. Produced by L.A. & Babyface, it opens with a cover of the Stylistics' "You Make Me Feel Brand New." Smooth, programmed soul throughout, with the title track and "Mary Mack" among the standouts.
