The Abyssinians formed in Kingston in 1968, with Bernard Collins alongside Donald Manning and Linford Manning. "Leggo Beast" is an early Clinch Records 7", produced by Collins himself, with the dub version "Licking Sticks Version" on the flip. Rooted in Nyahbinghi rhythm and conscious Rastafarian themes, it sits among the foundational roots singles the group cut before their landmark Studio One and Sufferer's Heights work. --- That's 392 characters.
