Big Joe Williams -- Delta blues guitarist and songwriter, active from the 1930s -- recorded this compilation drawing on sessions that capture his nine-string guitar style and itinerant songwriting. Released in 1981 on Yugoslavia's PGP RTB, licensed from Storyville, it includes his take on Robert Johnson's "Hellhound On My Trail" alongside originals. Also issued as part of PGP RTB's ten-LP Blues Roots series.
