Lovely Day was originally recorded by Bill Withers for his 1977 album Menagerie, co-written with Skip Scarborough and produced with Clarence McDonald. This 1988 UK CBS pressing pairs the Sunshine Mix -- a re-edit prepared for the Greatest Hits compilation -- with the original 1977 version on the B-side. The track later became a UK top ten hit on its reissue run.
