Product Review:
Blind Boy Fuller's East Coast Piedmont Style masterful ragtime-influenced fingerpicking blues guitar.
Blind Boy Fuller recorded for ARC/Vocalion between 1935 and 1940, becoming one of the defining voices of Piedmont blues from Durham, North Carolina. This 1991 Columbia compilation, produced by Lawrence Cohn for the Roots N' Blues series, draws 20 tracks from those original sessions. Fuller's fingerpicked ragtime-influenced guitar style and double-entendre lyrics are well represented across tracks like "Sweet Honey Hole" and "Somebody's Been Playing With That Thing."
