Booker saxophonist Booker Ervin's 2012 Real Gone four-CD compilation draws from six albums recorded between 1960 and 1964 for Bethlehem, Savoy, and Candid, among others. Hard bop throughout, with Ervin's distinctive Texas tenor voice across cuts including "The Book Cooks", "Autumn Leaves", and "Booker's Blues". A remastered overview spanning his most productive early period.
