Bruce Purse is the self-titled debut LP by New York trumpeter Bruce Purse, released in 1991 on Next Plateau Records. A soul-jazz set with funk leanings, it features his take on Albert Hammond's "It Never Rains in Southern California" alongside original cuts including "Nightlife" and "Straight Ahead, Whatever." Next Plateau was also home to Marley Marl and Ultramagnetic MCs during this period.
