Bukka White recorded Sky Songs Vol. 1 in Berkeley in November 1963, captured by producer Chris Strachwitz on a single Capps condenser mic for Arhoolie Records. The four tracks -- including the 13-minute "Sugar Hill" and "Alabama Blues" -- are raw solo Delta Blues performances. Arhoolie F1019, reissue pressing.
