Cat Anderson leads a small group drawn from the Duke Ellington Orchestra on this 1959 UK Columbia EP, recorded in Paris in October 1958. Two Ellington standards feature: "Concerto For Cootie," written for trumpeter Cootie Williams, and "Black And Tan Fantasy," co-written with Bubber Miley. An original UK pressing on Columbia Graphophone Co. Ltd, reviewed across Jazz Journal, Melody Maker, and The Gramophone on release.
