Product Review:
US Original. 1961 Mono. Red Purple atlantic labels. One scuff and some hairlines but overall excellent. Sleeve has damage to two top corners and one knick to rear of the sleeve (1cm). Small intials in biro on rear and 2cm split at the top edge. Spine and front nice and clear.

Blues & Roots was recorded in a single session on 4 February 1959 and released on Atlantic in 1961. This US repress carries the red/purple label with white fan logo and no ® symbol. Mingus assembled a ten-piece band including Jackie McLean and Pepper Adams to work through gospel, blues, and hard bop across six tracks -- highlights include Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting and the churning E's Flat Ah's Flat Too.
