Mingus Dynasty was recorded in two New York sessions in November 1959 and originally released on Columbia in 1960. The album features Mingus leading a large ensemble through originals alongside Duke Ellington's "Mood Indigo" and Mercer Ellington's "Things Ain't What They Used To Be." This 1983 European CBS reissue on the I ♥ Jazz series was pressed in Holland.
