Recorded live-in-studio at Nola Penthouse Sound Studios, NYC in October 1960, this is an original US Candid mono pressing -- a label variation with three lines of text including "Charles Mingus Quartet" not found on other first pressings. Yellow/orange labels with 72mm deep groove. Features "Original Faubus Fables," Mingus's sharp political response to Arkansas governor Orval Faubus's school segregation stance.
