Charlie Byrd was a Washington DC guitarist whose 1962 album *Jazz Samba* with Stan Getz brought bossa nova to a wide American audience. This Dutch EP on Riverside -- manufactured and distributed by Fontana under licence from Interdisc S.A. -- collects four bossa nova pieces including "Meditação" and Luís Bonfá's "Um Abraço no Bonfa", drawing from Byrd's early-60s sessions with the style.
