Blues & Roots is a 1960 Atlantic album by Charles Mingus, recorded in a single session on 4 February 1959 at Atlantic Studios, New York, produced by Nesuhi Ertegun. Rooted in gospel, blues, and New Orleans polyphony, highlights include "Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting" and "Moanin'". This 2002 remastered reissue on Atlantic/Warner Jazz adds four alternate takes from the original session tapes.
