Playboys pairs trumpeter Chet Baker with alto saxophonist Art Pepper, recorded in 1957 for Pacific Jazz and originally issued on World Pacific. This 1983 European reissue on Boplicity (BOP 3) draws from Liberty/EMI holdings of the original tapes. The session features all-minor-key originals alongside J.J. Johnson's "C.T.A." and runs across two quartet sides of tightly coiled West Coast cool.
