Cousin Joe -- born Pleasant Joseph in New Orleans -- recorded these twenty sides for DeLuxe and Savoy between 1946 and 1947, catching him at peak form as a piano-playing blues shouter with a sharp wit. This 1995 Blue Moon compilation (Spain) collects the second half of his complete recordings from that period. Highlights include "Lightning Struck The Poorhouse" and the sardonic "It's Dangerous To Be A Husband."
