Detroit Emeralds formed in Detroit in the late 1960s, led by vocalist Marvin Willis and produced by Abrim Tilmon. "Feel The Need" was the lead single from their 1977 Westbound LP of the same name, issued here on Atlantic/Westbound in the UK. Written and arranged by Tilmon, the title track became a Northern Soul and disco staple, while the B-side "Love Has Come To Me" runs five minutes.
