Donald Byrd's Blue Breakbeats is a 1998 Blue Note compilation drawing from his mid-70s Mizell Brothers productions -- the Larry and Fonce Mizell sessions that bridged hard bop and funk. Tracks like "Wind Parade" and "Lansana's Priestess" were heavily sampled across 90s hip-hop. Six tracks, all substantial, running across the Black Byrd and Street Lady era recordings.
