Dr. John's debut album, recorded in 1968 under the alter ego Dr. John the Night Tripper, blends New Orleans voodoo ritual, psychedelic rock, and Afro-Caribbean percussion into something that had no real precedent. Arranged and produced by Harold Battiste, it features the sprawling "I Walk On Guilded Splinters." This is an original 1968 UK Atlantic pressing, manufactured by Polydor Records Ltd.
