Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn's jazz reinterpretation of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite was recorded in Los Angeles in 1960 and released across three EPs. This is Part 3, a UK Philips mono 7" EP covering the Russian Dance, Chinese Dance, and Arabian Dance. Ellington and Strayhorn adapted each movement into swinging big band arrangements far removed from the ballet original.
