Ernest Ranglin's *Boss Reggae / Sounds Ranglin* pairs two early Studio One-era albums on one CD. Ranglin, the Jamaican guitarist who helped shape ska and rocksteady, recorded these instrumental sessions under producer Richard Khouri for Federal Records in the late 1960s. This is a 2016 reissue on Tokyo's Dub Store Records, a label known for careful reggae reissues. Highlights include a reggae reading of "Everybody's Talking" and the Ranglin original "Dr. No-Go."
