Floyd Dixon was a Los Angeles-based R&B pianist and vocalist whose West Coast jump blues recordings of the late 1940s and early 1950s placed him alongside Charles Brown and Amos Milburn. Houston Jump is a 1979 Swedish compilation on Route 66, collecting sixteen mono tracks from that peak period. The title track and Alarm Clock Blues are among Dixon's most sought-after sides.
