Freddie McGregor's *Rumours*, released 1997 on Greensleeves Records, produced by Augustus "Gussie" Clarke. McGregor was a Studio One veteran by this point, and Clarke -- known for his work with Gregory Isaacs and Dennis Brown -- brings a polished roots and lovers rock feel across 15 tracks. "Tin Soldier" and "Mix Up And Blenda" stand out among a set that leans heavily into McGregor's smooth vocal style.
