Brown Sugar is the fourth album by Hammond B-3 organist Freddie Roach, recorded March 1964 and released on Blue Note in 1966, produced by Alfred Lion. This copy is a Liberty-era repress on stock New York labels. The set mixes originals with covers including "Next Time You See Me" and "Have You Ever Had The Blues", drawing blues and gospel feeling into a soul-jazz framework.
