Freeez's Stay / Hot Footing It -- the UK funk and boogie act's 1981 Beggars Banquet double-sider. Freeez later had a bigger hit with IOU but this early material has more edge.

Freeez were a London jazz-funk group led by John Rocca, who produced both sides of this 1980 Pink Rythm 12". "Stay" and "Hot Footing It" appeared before their later Beggars Banquet period. The group are best known to hip-hop listeners via Jay-Z's sampling of their 1983 track "I.O.U." This original Pink Rythm pressing predates that crossover, catching the band in their early UK jazz-funk club phase.
