Argentinian tenor saxophonist Gato Barbieri recorded these four tracks across his early 1970s Flying Dutchman sessions, produced by Bob Thiele. This UK RCA compilation from 1973 draws from that period, spanning free jazz, Latin, and funk-inflected territory. "El Pampero" runs nearly 14 minutes and showcases the dense, politically charged energy Barbieri brought to his South American-rooted improvisations.
