Hamilton Bohannon's "Cut Loose" is a 1979 UK 12" single on Mercury, self-produced and arranged by the Atlanta-born drummer and bandleader. Bohannon built his name leading James Brown's live band in the late 1960s before launching a solo career defined by hypnotic percussion workouts. The B-side "The Beat (Part Two)" extends his trademark groove approach across six minutes of floor-focused funk.
