French 1984 reissue. Superb.

Harold Land's debut as leader, recorded in 1958 for Contemporary with Elmo Hope, Herbie Lewis, Frank Butler, and Carl Perkins. This is a 1984 French OJC reissue (OJC-162). Land's tenor anchors hard bop readings of standards including "Speak Low" and "You Don't Know What Love Is" alongside originals like "Grooveyard" and "Smack Up," the latter written by Land himself.
