Horace Parlan's Arrival was recorded in Copenhagen in December 1973 and originally released on SteepleChase. This 1992 CD reissue (SCCD 31012) adds a previously unissued track, "Just Keep A-Walkin'", making it the most complete version of the session. Parlan's distinctive left-hand technique -- shaped by childhood polio -- is central to his approach on bop standards including Milt Jackson's "Bag's Groove" and "Polkadots And Moonbeams".
