Horace Parlan was a Pittsburgh-born pianist who recorded prolifically for Blue Note and Steeplechase from the late 1950s onward, developing a distinctive left-hand technique after childhood polio. This 2012 Real Gone remastered 4xCD set compiles seven albums across four discs, drawing from his Blue Note and Enja periods and covering standards including "Stella By Starlight", "Summertime", and "Bag's Groove".
