Two 1950s Blue Note 10" mono LPs compiled onto one CD. Howard McGhee's 1953 WOR Studios session fills the first half, with Tal Farlow's 1954 Van Gelder date covering the second. Originally issued as BLP 5024 and BLP 5042, this 1998 limited edition reissue was produced by Michael Cuscuna. Alfred Lion produced both original sessions. Bop guitar and trumpet at close range.
