J.J. Johnson's second Blue Note volume, originally recorded at Van Gelder Studio in 1954 and 1955 and produced by Alfred Lion. This 2001 remastered reissue, produced by Michael Cuscuna, adds nine previously unissued tracks from the June 1955 session -- including alternate takes of "Viscosity" and "Daylie" Double -- making it substantially more complete than the original LP release.
