Jabbo Smith was a Chicago-based trumpeter whose raw, hot jazz style rivalled Louis Armstrong's in the late 1920s. This German Coral EP compiles four 1929 Chicago sessions featuring clarinetist Omer Simeon, including "Boston Skuffle" and "Little Willie Blues." A neat EP-format reissue of recordings that rarely surface outside specialist collections.
