Jaco Pastorius's 1976 debut on Epic introduced the electric bass as a lead instrument, featuring Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, and Don Alias. This 2006 US reissue on dark blue Epic vinyl includes "Donna Lee" -- a Charlie Parker line recast as an unaccompanied bass solo -- and "Portrait Of Tracy", a harmonics showcase that defined his technique. Produced by Bobby Colomby.
