Released originally in 1969 on King Records, Say It Loud (I'm Black And I'm Proud) compiles James Brown's landmark protest single alongside funk and soul cuts from the same period. This is a 1998 Polydor repressing, identifiable by the S3718# runout etching. The title track spent six weeks at number one on the R&B chart and remains one of Brown's most politically direct recordings.
