Jimmy Rogers' Chicago's Jimmy Rogers Sings The Blues — understated, guitar-driven Chicago blues from a Muddy Waters sideman.

Chicago-based guitarist Jimmy Rogers cut these sessions in 1972-73 for Shelter Records, backed by a tight band including Freddie King. This 1990 UK Sequel compilation, mastered for CD by Steve Hoffman, collects all 18 tracks from those sessions. Rogers was a key figure in the Chess Records electric blues scene of the 1950s alongside Muddy Waters, and these later recordings show his guitar work fully intact.
