Joe Bataan's debut LP, originally released on Fania in 1967, introduced the Afro-Filipino New Yorker's hybrid of boogaloo, salsa, and Latin soul. Produced by Jerry Masucci, it features the Curtis Mayfield cover "Gypsy Woman" and cuts like "Sugar Guaguanco" and "Ordinary Guy". This 2022 Craft Recordings reissue is pressed on 180g vinyl with all-analog mastering from the original tapes by Kevin Gray.
