New Thing At Newport captures John Coltrane and Archie Shepp at the 1965 Newport Jazz Festival, released on Impulse! in the US and here on a UK HMV mono pressing (CLP 3551). Coltrane's side features "One Down, One Up" at over twelve minutes; Shepp's side includes Bobby Hutcherson on vibes, appearing courtesy of Blue Note. Produced by Bob Thiele.
