Recorded in 1960 and released on Atlantic, Coltrane Jazz captures John Coltrane's quartet mid-transition, with hard bop originals like "Fifth House" and "Like Sonny" alongside standards. Produced by Nesuhi Ertegun. This 1998 German Atlantic Jazz CD pressing adds two alternate takes of "Like Sonny" and "I'll Wait and Pray" not included on the original LP release.
