Coltrane Time was recorded in New York on 13 October 1958, with Coltrane leading a quartet featuring Cecil Taylor on piano -- an unusual pairing. Originally issued on United Artists in the US, this is the 1963 UK United Artists pressing (SULP 1018), produced by Tom Wilson. The session includes hard bop readings of "Just Friends" and "Like Someone In Love" alongside two Coltrane originals.
