Live At Birdland is a 1963 live recording by John Coltrane, originally released on Impulse! AS-50 and produced by Bob Thiele. Tracks 1--3 were recorded at Birdland on October 8, 1963, with the remaining two cut at Van Gelder Studio the following month. This is a 2008 EU reissue CD. Highlights include a 10-minute reading of "Afro Blue" and the civil rights-era "Alabama."
