Lush Life is a John Coltrane album recorded in 1957--58 and originally released on Prestige. This is the 1987 OJC CD reissue, remastered directly from the original analog master tapes. Recorded with Red Garland, Donald Byrd, and Earl May, the 13-minute title track stands out -- a Billy Strayhorn composition that Coltrane stretches across its full length with just bass and piano accompaniment.
