John Mehegan was a Connecticut-born jazz pianist and educator who recorded for Savoy in the mid-1950s. This is a UK London Records EP pressing of material from those early sessions, issued on red label with silver print. The four tracks include Cherokee and Thou Swell, both jazz standards, alongside Blue's Too Much and The Boy Next Door -- a compact cross-section of Mehegan's bop-informed piano trio work.
