Soul Groove is a 1964 Atlantic LP co-led by tenor saxophonist Johnny Griffin and trombonist Matthew Gee, recorded for the label's SD 1431 catalogue number. Griffin, a Chicago hard bop veteran who had recorded for Riverside and Blue Note, teams with Gee across eight originals and standards including "Poor Butterfly" and the ballad "At Sundown." An original US stereo pressing on the blue-green Atlantic label.
