Shifting Gears is a 1988 UK reissue 12" single on BGP Records (BGPT 001), drawn from Johnny Hammond's 1975 Fantasy Records period. Both sides were written and produced by the Mizell Brothers -- Larry and Fonce -- whose work with Hammond sits alongside their productions for Donald Byrd and Bobbi Humphrey. The title track is among the most-sampled cuts from that catalogue. Pressed in West Germany.
